A family of German immigrants would come to Baltimore, Maryland and start a little bakery near Fort McHenry (Oh say, can you see!), where Adam Otterbein would create a crispy, buttery sugar cookie that an entire city would fall in love with.
The mission was to update the brand and prepare the cookie bags in order to create something the whole world would now fall In love with.

In order to do this, existing brand assets were looked at, as well as important information such as geographical and physical location as well as the history and timing of family events in relation to U.S. history.

Several logo concepts were explored and the bag design went through multiple iterations before landing on something that felt familiar to where the brand has been— but clearly positioned Otterbein’s as a brand ready expand their customer reach and appeal to those who love a crispy and delicious treat made with a lot of love and care.
